The UK gluten-free beer database
Every gluten-free beer sold in the UK that we have verified, with its gluten level and testing detail. No other public source holds this data.

What the data shows
There is no official register of gluten-free beer in the UK. Coeliac UK certifies products but publishes no public list, and market research figures sit behind paywalls with no product-level detail. This database is the count we built instead: 271 beers from 62 breweries, each individually verified, with discontinued beers marked rather than quietly removed (11 so far).
The most useful thing it reveals is the market's transparency gap. 138 beers (51%) have a published tested gluten reading below the 20ppm legal threshold, and only 30 publish repeatable readings below 10ppm. The remaining 127 (47%) are legally gluten free but publish no specific figure. To be clear about what that means: all of these beers meet the same legal standard, and Coeliac UK accepts beer below 20ppm whatever the brewing method. The difference between them is how much the brewery shows its working, not whether the beer is safe.
Where a brewery has told us its testing process, it appears against the beer below (181 beers, 67%). Where a beer says "no method published", that is deliberate: we record what breweries actually state rather than inventing detail. 85 beers in the database carry formal gluten-free certification in our records.

How this database is built
- What counts. Beers labelled gluten free under UK law (below 20ppm) and available to buy in the UK, whether naturally gluten free or gluten reduced.
- Gluten levels. A beer is bucketed below 10ppm or below 20ppm only when the brewery publishes, or has told us directly, a tested reading. No published figure means the beer sits at "gluten reduced" rather than getting the benefit of the doubt.
- No invented detail. Where a brewery has not published its testing method, the entry says so. Several breweries have sent us lab certificates, which we host on the beer's page.
- Discontinued beers stay. When a beer stops being made it is marked discontinued, not deleted, so the count history stays honest.
