The Story

Prime Time was started by Harvey Armstrong and Sam Holmes to make low calorie beer that does not trade away taste. The range is built around a 4.2% lager and a session IPA at 95 calories a can, roughly 30% fewer calories and well over half the carbs of a standard beer. It is aimed squarely at people who train and still want a proper pint. Every beer is brewed in Britain, gluten free and vegan, with no artificial sweeteners or preservatives.

GF approach: Brewed from barley malt with the gluten removed, then labelled gluten free. Under UK rules a beer can only be sold as gluten free if it tests at or below 20ppm. Prime Time does not publish its own test figure or name a certifying body. Every beer is vegan, and the alcohol free ZERO lager is made from barley, wheat, rye and oats with the gluten removed.
