The Story

A farm brewery at the head of Loch Fyne in Argyll, brewing since 2001 and a serial award winner. It made its blonde ale Hurricane Jack gluten free in early 2026, brewed from a barley and wheat base, with no figure published.

GF approach: Hurricane Jack went gluten-free in February 2026 (confirmed via brewery Instagram, 25 Feb 2026). The grain bill on the shop page lists Pale and Torrified Wheat malts, confirming gluten-containing grains are used. Gluten-free status is therefore achieved via enzyme treatment (gluten-reduced), not alternative-grain brewing. No enzyme name (e.g. Clarex), ppm figure, testing method, or Coeliac UK certification is stated on the site or shop. Note: the Fyne Ales main FAQ (now returning 404) previously stated 'All Fyne Ales beers contain gluten from barley and wheat' and may not yet be updated to reflect Hurricane Jack's new GF status.
