The Story

Nick Stafford founded Hambleton in 1991 at the bottom of his in laws' garden, starting with old steel tanks and a rusty Peugeot 205. The brewery grew into one of Yorkshire's significant regional producers and now offers contract brewing, bottling, canning, kegging, and labelling services for other breweries. Hambleton pioneered gluten free ale production in the UK, releasing its GFA beer after several years of research. The brewery is now managed by Rachel and Ben Harrison, with John Morgan as Head Brewer.

GF approach: Uses locally grown Yorkshire Wolds barley malt, then applies a gluten removal process at the end of production. Each batch independently tested and certified below 20ppm.
